This version has a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, a separate NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics chip, 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB drive. Its high-resolution screen offers useful space for photos, documents and creative applications. The appeal is having that capability in a lighter design than some large gaming laptops, although the model’s power limits still matter when comparing game performance.
The processor: handling work and games
The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is the CPU, the main processor that runs your applications. It has twelve cores and 24 threads, giving compatible software scope to process several parts of a job at once. That is useful for tasks such as exporting video, processing a batch of photos or developing software, as well as keeping ordinary work moving alongside them.
This should be a capable choice for a mixture of demanding applications and everyday tasks. If your routine is simply documents, email and streaming, those jobs do not require this processor class. The built-in neural processing unit, or NPU, handles supported AI workloads; it does not make every program faster or remove the need to check a particular application's requirements.
Memory: why 32 GB can be useful
RAM is the working space for active programs and their data. The AERO's listed 32 GB offers more capacity for large photos, video projects and several substantial applications open together than a typical 8 GB or 16 GB everyday laptop.
Eight gigabytes can serve lighter document and browsing work. Sixteen gigabytes is a useful amount for ordinary multitasking and many games. Thirty-two gigabytes becomes more valuable as the active workload grows, reducing the likelihood that Windows has to move working data out to slower storage. It does not make a simple task twice as fast as 16 GB if the task already had enough memory.
The DDR5 label names the memory generation. GIGABYTE lists two memory slots and a maximum of 64 GB for the applicable family, but confirm the installed module arrangement and exact model's service information before purchasing an upgrade. This review does not assume that the 32 GB retail configuration leaves a slot free.
Storage: the 1 TB drive
The solid-state drive, or SSD, is permanent storage for Windows, apps and files. The listed 1 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe drive is a small internal storage card with a fast connection, useful for loading software and moving project files. It has a different role from RAM: a larger SSD lets you keep more data, while more RAM helps larger active workloads fit in working memory.
One terabyte is roughly twice a 512 GB drive's advertised capacity, and a useful starting point for a mixed work and gaming machine. Windows and applications consume some of that space; video footage and large games can use the remainder surprisingly quickly. An external drive can extend file storage and provide a separate backup. The family lists two M.2 slots, but check drive compatibility before treating the second as an expansion plan.
Graphics: what the RTX 5070 can do
The NVIDIA RTX 5070 is a dedicated graphics processor, or GPU, separate from the main CPU. It performs the intensive drawing needed for modern 3D games and can accelerate supported video, design and rendering applications. That makes the AERO more relevant to those tasks than an ordinary laptop with basic integrated graphics.
The GPU has 8 GB of its own video memory, or VRAM, for textures and other graphics data. This is separate from the 32 GB system RAM and cannot be increased by fitting more ordinary memory. Large texture sets or substantial 3D projects can encounter that limit, so check the requirements of the games and applications that matter to you. At the screen's native 2560 × 1600 resolution, demanding games may still need reduced settings or a supported upscaling mode for smoother play.
GIGABYTE's 2025 launch information gives the family a maximum graphics power of up to 85 W. This is a useful warning against treating all laptop RTX 5070 implementations as identical. It does not establish the power used continuously by this exact unit, or tell us its frame rate in a particular game.
The sensible comparison is with measured results for the same configuration and power profile, when available. Do not convert wattage differences into assumed performance percentages. Cooling, software settings and the workload affect the outcome too.
If your games or graphics projects need more than 8 GB of video memory, the RTX 5070 Ti Strix G16 has 12 GB, but carries a different weight and power budget. The AERO's appeal is the balance of its parts and portability, rather than a claim to be the fastest option with a similar name.
The screen: detail, movement and colour
The 16-inch diagonal describes the physical size. The 2560 × 1600 resolution describes how many pixels form the picture, giving more detail and potential workspace than a basic 1080p panel. That is useful for editing a photo, working with a timeline or arranging windows; Windows scaling can enlarge text if the default is too small.
The 165 Hz refresh rate allows the panel to update up to 165 times a second, which can show smoother motion when a game supplies enough frames. It does not guarantee that frame rate. The applicable family WQXGA option also lists 100% sRGB coverage, describing its colour range, and 400-nit typical brightness. Colour range is not the same as measured colour accuracy, and brightness is separate again. Confirm the exact panel if dependable colour work is central to the purchase.
Connecting screens, accessories and the internet
The applicable 2025 family lists USB4 with DisplayPort and Power Delivery. In practical terms, this provides a route for suitable data devices, an external display signal and charging support through a compatible USB-C connection. The dock, cable and charger must support the intended functions too; a USB-C plug alone does not establish them.
HDMI provides another screen or television connection, while the rectangular USB-A sockets accommodate familiar accessories such as a mouse or external drive. Ethernet gives a wired network option. The family also lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth: Wi-Fi connects to a wireless network, and Bluetooth links nearby devices such as headphones. Wi-Fi 6E's additional-band features need supporting network equipment; they do not automatically improve broadband speed.
Camera, keyboard and sound
GIGABYTE's family specification includes a Full HD 1080p camera with infrared support for Windows Hello face sign-in and built-in microphones. That provides the basic camera equipment for meetings as well as a convenient way to unlock Windows. It does not establish image quality in a dim room. The audio connection allows a wired headset when you want private calls or game sound.
Keyboard feel, touchpad behaviour and speaker quality have not been tested here. Those details can matter as much as a processor upgrade when you type or hold calls for hours. Check the exact keyboard layout and lighting features against the selected configuration rather than judging them from a representative illustration.
Battery, portability and Windows
The family lists a 76 Wh battery. Watt-hours describe stored energy, not runtime: games and video processing can consume it much faster than reading or typing. The 1.9 kg family weight makes carrying the machine a more realistic prospect than some heavier gaming laptops, but include the adapter in that comparison and verify exact-unit weight if portability is critical.
Windows 11 Home is listed, supporting conventional Windows applications subject to their requirements. It does not automatically include paid office software, creative applications or games. The AERO makes most sense when the work you plan to do will use its processor, 32 GB memory and dedicated graphics together.
Is this AERO the right choice?
The most convincing buyer is someone who will use the 32 GB RAM and dedicated graphics, wants more workspace than a basic 1080p screen, and carries the machine often enough for weight to matter. For colour-sensitive work, verify the exact panel and the requirements of your workflow; resolution alone says nothing about colour accuracy.
Before ordering, match the processor and full model suffix to the offer. Confirm any essential docking or expansion requirement against the exact unit, using the USB-C comparison as a starting point. If the laptop will mostly stay on a desk, compare the current Strix offers too: the AERO's weight saving may then be less valuable to you.
AERO X16 is a family name also used for newer configurations. This review concerns the 2WHA3USC64DH with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370; specifications for a newer generation do not automatically apply to it.
